Drawing on the style of the old Vale Royal Wedderburn distillery, this version was created at Long Pond. Produced from a long fermentation in the traditional Jamaican style, with particular luminosity, it reveals very complex fruit, abundant floral notes and noble, diverse spices. Overflowing with generosity, it has chosen the paths of classicism to bring out all of the nuances of its palette of flavours and aromas.

Profile: the concentrated initial nose is characterized by notes of mango, orange and apricot. Allowed to breathe, it becomes floral (iris) and mentholated. The slender attack is vanilla, fibrous (sugarcane) and spicy (ginger). The mid-palate reveals precious wood (beeswax). The silky finish is in turn floral, fruity and syrupy (apricot). The retronasal olfaction is powdery (cocoa).

TASTING NOTE

Appearance : copper with glints of mahogany.
Nose : rich, concentrated. On the initial nose, mango, candied orange and ripe apricots give an energetic riposte. Just behind them, we can make out dark chocolate, tiger balm and rose petal. Allowed to breathe, it becomes floral (iris, lavender, orange blossom) and mentholated. The extremely fine and slender aromatic palette develops notes of new oak, corinthian raisin, guava and lichen.
Palate : lively, slender. On the attack, vanilla, mango and orange appear alongside sugarcane, molasses and fresh ginger. The mid-palate highlights the nobility of its wood (beeswax, candied apricot). The very sunny end of the palate is heady (lilac, freesia, gardenia), salty and honeyed (heather, lime blossom). It also expresses a very precise note of quince jelly.
Overall : long, silky. The very extroverted finish begins by revealing notes of peach blossom, persimmon and dried fig. Next, a fine apricot liqueur refreshes the palate. With lots of texture, the retronasal olfaction is powdery (cocoa), spicy (cardamom, ylang-ylang) and fruity (apple jelly). The very fragrant and heady empty glass is also liquoricey, herbaceous (pipe tobacco) and fruity (melon, orange).
